All's I do is get your music (downloaded or whatever), open up Windows media player and they have a burn section, sort out your preferences, then on left side of screen select the location of your music and drag or copy them to the burn list on right.
Then just begin burning, should take 5mins - should pop in and play like mine does (although I have a nightmare trying to get the CD to play sometimes as it constantly jumps and fails to read - but that's another issue - faulty, dirty unit)

Hope that helps (or you might know all this already) :D

Don't even need to use media player, just drag and drop the files onto the empty CD through windows explorer, click burn and choose the option for burn as data (rather than audio CD) and you're golden.

I used to use this method ages ago, but since i did a fresh install with my ssd, it just wont burn anymore, it just copies the tracks to the disk rather than burn them - ahh well no biggie :p

should work for everyone else

What I am asking is perfectly reasonable and logical questions to ask after I have experimented with a couple of CD burner softwares.

I was more interested in was fact and not vague referral to how discs need to be burned in a particular format being thrown around this and other forums and not answering the question.

I have tried burning a DATA disc and it while readable on my PC, is rejected by the player and yes the disc session has been closed...

So DO MP3's have to be a specific bit rate? Sample Frequency... CBR and VBR? etc.

I'm actual really surprised people have replied to your thread'.

Manner's cost nothing..

You've started a thread with 'no hello..etc
And then you stamp your feet because you haven't got the reply you wanted...

And how is ...burning a CD. Punto related...

I am guessing you are trying to burn a disc of MP3 tracks to get more music on the disc than you would fit on an audio format CD.

Very simple answer is you can't.

The stock head unit will only read the normal CD format ie any disc burnt for use in the car must be burnt as an audio cd. The stock head unit does not recognise MP3 format.

If you want to have a stereo that plays MP3 tracks you will need to upgrade your stereo and if doing so it is highly recommended you review the very detailed guides on the forum as it is very easy to incorrectly wire the stereo and damage the can bus network in the car if the wiring is not modified correctly.

Not technically true late model (2003-2006) hgt and eleganza models had an upgraded MP3 head unit, it as a lit,e MP3 logo beside the cd loading slot,

That said the mp3 models are ironically crap at reading writable CDs

So what everyone has said is true, you simply drag and drop files (data disc) or you can sort them in folders, however there is no fancy bit rates file sizes or anything else

So confirm your radio has the mp3 logo and if your discs won't read invest in some top quality discs if that still doesn't work assume your radio is an arse and give up and fit a new head unit.

Oh and I agree with Oldhammer don't be rude and dismissive of people trying to help you

People often read attitude in to the way a person posts, I was asking a reasonable question but wasn't getting the answer I needed so I tried to restate that query.

CD burning has everything to do with the CD player in the car.

I haven't been stamping my feet, thank you.

Thanks for you answers, I do know how to burn audio cd's, my original query was the MP3 option that according to the manual my car has.

Turns out that my car has had its player swapped out. So it pretty much sorted in terms of not being able to pack more audio on to Disc.

:(

I love using my casette to mp3-function. It works just fine, all I need is a MP3-Player with all the music I want. Barely any work for me and that thing works fine for five years now.
