I actively prefer a rotary to me though the DAS6 is old some of the new DA's reduce a lot of vibration which is something I became weary of using DA.

Just to add to Andy the rotary is fine you just have to take your time, I would not say you can say the DA is not unsafe on any paint it can just as bad it will take longer to burn through leaving it in the same place but still you need practice.

Auto Finessa ha, I would not go to many of their products on a personal viewpoint owing to some of their business practices. Additionally some of the labeling is frankly misleading and downright dangerous (Next time you have an Auto Finesse product try accessing the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) that tell of any dangerous items in the product which legally have to be freely available, from the link given on the label- 100% doubt you can owing to not having a password).

Furthermore as for them manufacturing their products cheaper from other providers.

I like Menzerna for polishes always been reliable and trustworthy.

If you want a decent polisher check out one by sealey, they are a cheap and fairly decent tool maker which a lot of body shops use. I've used their polishers lots and for the money are decent. Just make sure you get a light weight one as the standard ones are horrible to use due to weight and size. Also these are easily compatable with 3m and farecla product systems

I got my Meguiars G220 v2 for xmas together with the Meguiars restoration pack which also came with three 7" pads cutting, polishing and finishing. What else does anyone think I should need?

hi get some farecla compounds much cheaper than named stuff and you can get the grades you are comfortable with
im a g5 man myself
also get a trigger spray to keep your area wet if doing a deep compound,i put an old blanket on windscreens and plastic for any spin off
youtube is excellant for tips and look at this site too that i use to keep up as lets be honest here america leads we follow

Personally straight away you need some 4 inch spot pads to do narrower sections.

Regarding polishes personally I would say go with Scholl or Menzerna polishes - I don't see you needing heavy cutting compounds on a fiat (unless respray with hard clearcoats). Heavier defects should really come out on original paint well with a polishing pad.

Pad spur is another good idea if you are doing long sets and a decent light source.

Thanks again for the advice mate, I have ordered some 4" pads and a backing plate for them together with some Meguiars M105 and M205
