My daughters m reg 1.2 55sx has just started to be lumpy in acceleration and motor boats a little in idle . Dont have a manual at present and dont know much about the car so wondered if anyone had any ideas . Is it plugs / ht leads or something more sinister ?

If it's a 55sx, it will be the 1.1litre engine (55bhp).
Best thing to do, buy a set of HT leads. remove airbox, clean the whole thing out and around the throttle body, should make a difference.
If not, then replace sparkplugs etc. Just sounds like a general 'service' type issue.
