I know this is not in the same league as some of the journeys discussed on here but the time came yesterday to take Luigi from his temporary accommodation in Cambridge (rented council garage) to his new home in the Cotswolds (incidentally, my new home too...at least for weekends!!). We chose a great day for it too!
I was very proud so thought I would share some pictures! They show us just outside Bedford (80 mins in), filling up at Bicester (150 mins in), on the edge of the Cotswolds (about 200 mins in) and finally at home (he does have a garage but it is not quite as pretty as the garden). Plenty of massacred flies on the front to show we built up some speed . We even overtook....a tractor
Total of 165km over about 3.25 hours driving time. Tomtom was set for "cycle route" to avoid dual carriageways but included plenty of towns, villages I didn't know existed and very tiny country lanes
All went very well and Luigi purred along all journey...so many thanks to you guys and gals for your help and advice over the last couple of years in helping me :worship:
Unfortunately I will probably have to put Luigi into a long sleep in a few months time when the builders move into the house (long story) so I need to find some time to check him over and catch up on a few things I had planned (so be warned, I will be back with questions ) )
