Now I've restored my engines respiratory capacity, time to get the sound workin again (since the whole thing seem sot have staedily died on me, will try setting it up properly this time). Did a search..found my old thread
HPF = High Pass Filter
LPF = Low Pass Filter
'The HPF would be used to stop the low notes (Bass) going to the door/rear speaker when using a Sub. (The low notes would be dealt with by the sub)
The LPF would be be used to stop the high notes going to a Sub (If used). (the high notes would be dealt with by the front/rear speakers)
As you are going for full range i would advise you to turn them both off if possible'
Daz (from old thread)
Since I did buy a sub at the end of the day, but stuck with 13's and plate 10s with built on tweeters in doors, few Q's..
Sub (with built in amp)connected to dedicated line from alpine HU.
Four speakers run through seperate amp.
X-Over switch for each pair can select
LPF, Full, or HPF.
Q.If I have a sub and ideally then want to limit pass filter interfearance, which do I select?
Q.Do I perhaps select HPF for the fronts, and LPF for the rears, even with a seperate sub?
If say I set the sub midway at phase 110, do I set the LPF and HPF accordingly (even though they go to 240)?
I know it kinda depends on what like and how you like to listen to it, but there are soo many variables, I'd appreciate a point in the right direction, as fine tweeking I can do then on the HU. Cheers for any help
