Tuning Lowering springs / coilovers

I've being looking at lowering springs for my grande punto, I have 17" alloys and didn't know if buying the cheap 60mm springs would take it too low. I'm on a budget so coilovers may not be an option unless anyone has any going cheap.

I would go for 40 mm as 60 Is too low for a daily for me you will catch the front bumper on l sorts
