Hey gays and gals,

My front wishbones need doing urgently and front springs & shocks really are nearing the end.

Does anyone know of 'cheap' shock & spring replacements for the 2.4jtd weekend?

I did the rear shocks and springs a few months ago but wouldn't mind replacing the whole lot with maybe a 20-30mm drop.

thanks

Darren

Lowerd mine just before/after xmas (can't remeber) with pi springs on standard dampers, they are -40mm and it sits pretty nicely. Seems to handle any load i put in the back aswell (my 12" sub/box and my 15" bass amp and guitar)

There wasn't much choice when i was looking, everyone seemed to be about 40mm. Mine were £110 deliverd from Venom performance but the delivery was VERY slow from these guys.

Hope that helps!

No 1. Sorry for writing 'Gays and gals', my phone likes spelling for me :)

No 2. Thanks for the advice, it seemed that it was cheaper to get new lowering stuff than original fiat suspension.
Think I found a bargin at the moment on wishbones though, £50 for BOTH wishbones delivered!

anywho, thanks for the advice and any other advice or places to buy is much appreciated.

Fiat Marea Weekend 2.0 20v HLX 147 83k and so far so good!

Be very carefull when buying wishbones or you'll end up swapping em again and again.
If you can afford OEM Fiat jobbies then I would buy these, last set from Fiat lasted over 8 years, then got some cheapies lasted six months, I got my last set from a decent local motor factor so far lasted over a year.
Springs wise seems to be PI or if you can see if KW do em.
I got PI on the front with some after market standard springs on the rear which turned out to be KW's.
So I would assume there might be some KW lowered jobs.

thanks for all the replies.

2 MOT's running I have slight play on the sheet.

Since I've owned her ive always had knocking while going over bumps and the worst bit is under heavy breaking the passenger wheel 'clonks' backwards half an inch but feels like the whole wheel has fallen off through the steering wheel.
It stays in this posistion unless I accelerate hard from standstill. I think it is the bottom ball joint has made it's own housing with a ridge in the middle which lets it slip back and forth when under strain.

The car has done 155k miles and i don't think anyone has ever looked after it.

the ebay bargins I found are these

thanks

The problem I've noticed with cheap wishbones is not that the bushes perishes or anthing it always seems to be a problem with the play in the balljoint at the hub point.

I even bought some brand new ones with so much play in the balljoint I could flick the thing around without much force and you could here it click.

I've ordered some (not the ones in the link I posted) which are apparently for 'all' models including 2.4jtd

I asked for a warranty and gave me 6 months so if they are dodgy then I will send them back.

thanks guys

I got Kws 30mm for the Jtd and they are a good improvement over the standard springs. Ive paired them with KYB shocks.
