Technical low power and whineing noise

hi there, can anyone help me.
just bought a ulysse,( beautiful car) its on a 54 plate,
while driving it home I notice it had very little power~(sluggish)
the turbo does work but dos'nt come in until 3000 revs are achived
which is quite hard because of lack of power,
there is also a squealy whine noise from serpentine belt area.
any ideas.

Whatever the problem turns out to be (and it could be many, many things from fuel filter via MAF to MAP, whatever) has the cambelt been changed? If it hasn't DO IT and include a new water pump and idler. Hate to see these capable vans die!

Hi ,my 2003 ulysse JTD did the same , sluggish low power under 2000 revs, independent garage cleaned and adjusted throttle cable ,there is a clip on the cable behind the throttle body on top of engine that can adjust the tension , it worked on mine for a few months but has gone back to being slow again in lower gears , garage said might need to replace cable , but in meantime clutch has just failed at 91k , been quoted 900 to replace dmf and clutch , 11 hours labour !!
