Technical Low Fuel Dash Warning

You just need to fill it up fully and then run it dry. Believe me I'm not doing this to make people run out of fuel!

I would, but what if i run dry in the middle of nowhere!? And i don't want to damage the engine either, i ran dry in an other one of my cars, didn't do it any good, wouldn't run properly afterwards for a while...

I noticed this evening a new warning I have never seen before.

I have recently (2 days ago) updated B&M to the latest version, and I have just got a warning saying "Low Fuel" (or something similar) whilst at the same time winding the display brightness up to max brisghtness just to catch my attention as the car reached 1/4 tank left, I have never seen this before in 2 years of 500 ownership.

how do you update b&m to the latest version? cheers

I know its an old thread but mine has done it today without the fuel warning light coming on, had the car since march and ive run it down to the little blips on the gauge and it has never come up with this warning before......

Keep running it down. The warning goes off when there is 30 miles range left. So switch the trip computer to range and then run it down till you get below 30 miles and bingo.

Seems to be a bit of confusion here Mark,

As someone who's never filled up before the car pretty much shows empty I'm fairly used to this At 70 miles range the little amber fuel indicator comes on and beeps at you. When you start the car up after this I think it it beeps as well and flashes the message again to alert the driver again. At 30 miles to go the range goes blank and the car beeps loudly. Always did this on my car before the latest version of B&M

Just to correct myself, I think I might be wrong here, I don't think it does beep at you when it gets to 70. It's when it gets to 30, don't know what I was smoking back then!

Light comes on at 60 to go here, then beeps and dash warning will appear at 30, interesting thread this one, took it as the norm since the Panda did it as did the Stilo

The same thing happened to me today. I got the low fuel message but the low fuel light did not come on. Never happened to me before but then again i recently updated the B&M.

There is no low fuel light in the 500..... Nothing to do with b&m at all.

What do you mean? I had the low fuel light coming on before (glowing fuel pump) but not the low fuel warning message. Now its the other way around.

Sorry, I forgot about the fuel pump. Stupid me! Plonker!
