I don't wish to annoy but I bought an '03 1.9 JTD (68K on the clock then and now 76K) and have had great miles and trouble free times. Got her up to a 110mph in Germany the other day....smooth as you like:D.

But...after our hols on the ferry crossing back we got caught up in traffic exiting through customs. Engine not especially hot but conked out. Now she doesn't like starting hot...gets bothered in traffic. The engine management icon popped on and off when she wouldn't start. But she's a goer on the open road:slayer:.

Any advice would be gratefully received. And I will take her to a trusty mechanic I know, but want some sort of starting point for him:worship:.

Could it be the crankshaft/rpm sensor (I keep reading about)? Wow what a site. I discover I have a recall for front suspension bits!!

Thank you

Apparently, it could be an air leak in the fuel supply. I made the point that the problem only occurs when the engine gets hot. Because the crank is so strong when trying to turn it over they don't reckon it is in any way an ignition or battery problem ie there is plenty of juice (maintenance type battery essential for a diesel).
Mechanic on phone said that the fuel lines on Multiplas are not great, in fact 1st generation ('98-'01 DYOR) had a recall on lines.
