An old thread I know so does anyone have a better idea now on if it's possible to sort it cheaper? My wife managed to lose the remote although we still have the non-remote spare key but, for some odd reason it doesn't operate on the driver's door lock. I've had the car since it was only ten months old so it's unlikely that the lock was changed in that 10 months. Its a damned nuisance having to go round to the passenger side to lock and unlock the car with the key. Anyone just connected the central locking up to an aftermarket remote control or alarm type system?

a customer of mine lost her only 54 reg punto key. She got a brand new key along with pin code from Fiat & I programmed it for £30. Not sure how much she paid for the key or code. My key supplier charges £45 for the code but i know if you go to Fiat yourself it's cheaper as another customer has just got it for his Scudo so i can program him a key tomorrow. I'm sure he said he paid £16 for the code

oh & if the customer has their key number i can get new keys precut to that code from my supplier which i do quite often for other makes of vehicle

When we got our 2nd hand Stilo here in Spain it only came with the blue remote key, no other spare key.

I asked my wife to pop into the local Fiat dealer and get a spare one, non remote and she was quoted 175€.

If we wanted the blue remote it would cost over 300€.

Is there any way we can get this cheaper from some one on this thread, like actionman37 for instance, and is so what information would we need to supply?

when you can read the eeprom of your bodycomputer it's possible to use this file for precoding a new transponder for your car - that's the only difficult part.
A normal non-flip key with a blank transponder can be bought for less than 15 pound.
