what do you do when you cant find the silly shape socket for your locking nuts? i'm starting to panic!

if you know the 'brand' of them then you can buy replacements

mine came with a box that have the code of the 'special' bit - mine are fiat - not sure if other brands do this?

if you get really stuck buy replacements then go to your local garage explain the situation.

most have a tool that threads itself to the nut anticlockwise and when tight unscrews it.

Got a couple of those sockets, No good though if the locking bolts or nuts have a spinner top. A good set will. That has to be chisled off first. As said, a tyre company such as ATS will get em off for you

it must be painful to lose your nut...

However, as above, a good garage should be able to sort it out for you as its quite a common thing to be lost :)

"just weld a bit of metal onto it, and turn..or drill the thing out"

messy.. but would get the job done

my local garage is trying to charge me to get them off think he said something like £8 a wheel. do they all charge or can i get it done for free? whats this tool called? might see if i have any friends of a friend who have 1.
