Technical Loss of power to dash

Hi all

For about 10 minutes today I experienced an apparent loss of all power, no lights on dash, radio not working, no display or backlight on digital display and nothing when ignition key inserted and turned.

However, the instrument pointers where flicking up and down by about 4mm and every once & a while the time would be displayed for a few seconds.

After about 10 minutes all returned to normal.

I bought the 2006 Punto 1.2 8v active second hand and it dis not come with any sort of manual.

Can anyone please shed some light on the above?

i'll hazard a guess at ignition switch (did wipers/lights/heater work?)

No, nothing at all worked, not even the central locking - car was basically temporarily "dead"

Happened once again today so taking car back to garage - will report back to forum with findings.
