General Loss of display backlight - help

Hi Folks
Anybody know how to repair/replace the backlight on the sat nav/temp display? Not a problem without it by day but driving me nuts at night!

We had ours fail under warranty. I thought it would be a simple bulb thing but it's a more comlex LED afair. Got it replaced by dealer and came as a whole assembly. I think ours had a burnt out transistor but the damage to it meant I couldn't identify it.
I'd take the unit outand see if you can find a good electronics whizz. maybea local TV repair shop.

The climate control display backlight on my 2003 Presigio has gone out, I would also like to hear of any ideas to get it back on again, can't see it at night.
