Ducato losing power

hi there all.i am new here so hello to one and all. i have a 08 ducato 35 120 multi jet lwb 122000 miles on clock bought second hand 3 weeks ago. engine management lite keeps coming on and i am losin power at around 3000 rpm's. also sometimes when i start the van, it fires up fine but i have zero revs when i push accelerator down so i have to switch off and try again and its fine? can anyone help or have an idea what this might be? thank you.

If the engine management light is coming on, best place to start is with diagnostics.

chances are it's a sensor.. BUT finding which one.. ,
read the stored faultcodes ( left after the EML !!)

garages will charge @£40 for this but there are basic readers for @£15 , or you can download laptop driven ones,

also use the SEARCH function on here to get ideas,
