Technical Loosing power-need new ecu??

Anyone else had this problem: My Multipla is loosing power on hills and at high speed. The 'System injection failure' warning light is continually on and the car has gone into limp home mode a few times. Mechanic has run diognostics but not found anything. It's a 1.6 petrol 2001. the cam belt was replaced recently. has been suggested (by non-mechanic) that it might need a new ecu???

Anyone out there know any more that may help??

If the engine management light is always on,then there must be a fault logged in the ECU.It might be worth getting someone else to read the ECU codes and go from there.I would say that ECU replacement would be a last resort.

Who put the cam belt on ?????
Was it like it since you picked it up after the cam belt ?????????
Does the engine run smooth on idle ?????????????
