Hi, as the title says, I'm looking to get work done to bump up the BHP of my Sei. I am useless when it comes to working on cars so I'm looking to source parts online and have a garage do the work for me. I've read about chipping and tuning and I've seen for instance things like this on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=400068286216&ss
this claims to add 5-10 hp.

Could someone recommend the easiest work I could do to my Sei giving the best performance increase moneywise? Let's say I don't want to spend more than a few hundred for now including work and parts.

Any recommendations for tuning or chipping either please?

Thanks :)

Go with induction and complete cat back exhaust, maybe powerflow or something.

Personally before any power gain, go with getting her more road stable, uprate the braking system, make sure all the hoses are in good nick. Coilovers or lowering springs, with a set of polybushes.

Those upgrades will take the money right off you but atleast you know then shes ready for anything your thinking.

Thanks

:yeahthat:

also a good tune up normally helps, so a good full service will help no end

Things mentioned above like the exhaust and the induction kit can be bought second hand, if you are on a budget this might be the route you wish to go for now

ignore those ebay 5-10bhp chip resistor things they are a load of crap

Thanks for your replies.

Yeah the eBay link don't seem to work, it was listed as "01-04 FIAT SEICENTO 1.1 MPI SPORTING AIR INDUCTION KIT" and was £26.

So from what I gather, optimising air intake and outflow are the easiest ways to get more out of the engine then?

I'm sure my Sei's not in peak condition, 44K on the clock, 4K of that since I bought it in April. Sometimes feels like the injection isn't working properly, though this is my first car with injection. I have in the past got an EOBD saying injector sensors failure and reset it, it's come back a few times and cleared itself. It does tend to a judder a bit when idling but won't stall, sounds really thrashy when approaching 2K revs, though I know all Seis are noisy.

Cheers, thanks for your help.

that sounds like the advert for the focus induction kit.

Its ok as a startup but you should realise if you are paying £26 for a brand new kit there are obviously better things out there
