Looks like the spring in the clutch master cylinder has either weakened or broken on my 2000 1.6 'pla as per the other posts on this forum , what Im asking is this , while Im changing the master cylinder innards , could I fit a stronger , more durable spring,say from an air gun or similar? , I dont mind the stiffer clutch , but would the cylinder take it?
On the plus side we just got back from our hols in southern France and I can truly say the 'pla was outstanding , it carried the 4 of us and our considerable amount of gear at an average of 85+ on the peage extremly smoothly , if perhaps a little thirstily and it performed really well on the twisty cattletracks through the pyrenees the French call "b roads" . Having made the trip numerous times before in a townace and an estima , I can honestly say that the drive in the 'pla was the quickest and most enjoyable
