Hi all,
Looking for a set of Bravo2 1.6 multijet diesel wiring schematics.
I have an issue with my glow plug control unit in that it does not energise the plugs if the engine is look-warm. Fine when cold.
The glow plug controller was recently swapped out for a new one, but made no difference so looks like the fault lies elsewhere.
For those who might know, the first picture below shows the glow plug command % when I turn the key from off to standby; I did this five times and on the last I turned to key to IGN to start the engine.
The second picture is today's trial to start the engine after a short trip. The water temp is approx 46degC and I see no glow plug activity like the first picture. The spikes are me repeatedly trying to start the engine. Note in the first picture when the engine starts the glow plug % sits at about 20%. (This lasts quite a while till the engine heats up to about 38degC - third pic). In today's pic, as the engine begins to kick into life, the glow plug begin to be energised. Then as the engine can't start, the plug current dies almost immediately.
I kept repeating this cycle thinking as the glow plugs get pulses of current, they'll gradually keep getting warmer and hey-presto I was finally able to start the engine.
So I'm thinking there is something not happy about the engine temp being >30degC and I need a set of diagrams to see what talks to what in the engine bay.
Any help appreciated.
