I wonder what happens when you would flash the Stilo 9.8 software on the Alfa unit - would it display the same horrible colours as the Stilo CN?

I think you will more than likely 'Brick it'. i.e make it useless.
The Alfa CN+ (all of them, from 147, 159 etc) uses a different processor and has more memory than the Fiat one. Also I think the screen is different and has more than 256 colours. The Fiat Stilo CN+ is a striped down budget version of the Alfa one.
Will let you know how I get on with the can bus commands, but it may be a while before I get some time to try it.
