Are you still looking for a 500 to restore? My wife and I recently celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary in America. Whilst in the Detroit area, I was able to look over a Fiat 500 being used as an advertising hoarding. It was in fairly good condition but will need some TLC--I reckon that it has had '126' brakes fitted already as it has a set of alloys on it that are 98pcd.
