Yeah, they bend and weld on site - so can build pretty much anything you want.

That's the bog-standard 2.5" pipe with rolled in end. I was looking to get something that was more 'original' looking, but that would have been 30 quid extra - so I stuck with the standard option.

You can get a bigger tip, but I decided loud and subtle was the way to go.

I was a bit annoyed when I saw that the car had been hacked for a centre-exit pipe at some point (or the car which donated the bumper had.... looks awful when you look at it from underneath!)

Work to do:

Find an ECU to chip
Get my Bilstein suspension fitted
Have the valve clearances done - it's tapping away like a Ford at the moment....

Where did you get it done, Caerphilly or ...?

Wondering if they could make one up with an oval end, so it looked like the standard Cinq sporting exhaust, only oval all the way up to the rear box, not a bit of trim stuck on the end...

Was quoted £120 for a full (up to cat) mild steel replacement a while back.

Yeah, had it done in Caerphilly.

They'll do that back box for £120 if you ask.... list price is £140, I think.

Don't think they can do oval to the back box - just the oval trim, which was too pricey for what it was.

I'm very happy with it - but not so happy with my local breaker, who have a Punto 55 in, but wouldn't sell me the ECU unless I also bought all the locks etc - and were very reluctant to take it off to sell to me - 'it's a big job that' - well, you've just lost a sale!

Weve all done it at one time or another, just go with a big tool box and buy a wiper arm etc, for a couple of quid and watch that ECU vanish:devil:

best part is they can't search you, section 1 of pace does not apply to yobs in a scrappys(y)

Ah was that the £30?

Are you going to carry on being coy or will you tell us which place did the exhaust for you? :)

btw is the ECU so you have a spare, or because your current one hasn't got the chip in a socket?

Sadly you can't do it at my local place - they have a counter where you ask for parts, and take them off themselves.

Not a big issue - I have been offered at least 1 ECU on here that'll be available in a few weeks, but they're only 25 quid on eBay anyway.

Just wondered what kind of business model would turn down 25 quid for a part that would take them literally seconds to remove.

Strange place - last time I went there, I needed an old-school 'wet coil', for which they charged me about 2 quid.

The clue to where I had it done is in the title..... company name is 'Longlife' - they have centres all over the UK.

The ECU is because '98 Cinqs. have soldered ECUs mostly - but also because I'm more comfortable pulling chips on a spare ECU, meaning I still have mine if I manage to fry anything.

doh, I thought longlife meaning it won't rot away within ~18 months, or have the arms ping off sooner (seems to be my experience with mild steel exhausts).

There's a pic of a teal Celica on their website, I quite like the tip on that.

I also have a 98 Cinq, while I'm not shy with a soldering iron I'd probably want a spare too just in case, considering I wouldn't be able to drive anywhere if I knackered the only one.
