Sliding side door lock barrel damaged by attempted break-in.

Is there an alternative to buying a complete lock set (which costs £479) and just replace the damaged lock instead?

It's a 2003 Ducato with central locking. Any suggestions?

Thanks a lot.

Buy a lock from a scrappy and play around with the internals in order for your key to fit it, or if you dont want to mess about with the internals just use 2 separate keys?

Thanks Bandido. I didn't know it was possible to play with the internals of the lock to get an existing key to fit.

Anyway, I'll give those scrappies a try first.

Cheers.

It is you basically just strip the lock and you can either swap the slides around until you get a perfect fit for your key, or you can just file the protruding bits on the slides until they are flush with the barrel (but this also leave the lock vulnerable in that other keys could possibly fit and operate it.)
