Does anyone know where the factory-fit CD changer is installed on the Multipla? I've bought a Blaupunkt CDC-A03 changer (the same as the Fiat option, I think) but I can't figure out where best to put it!
I put my 10 disc changer under the front left-hand seat. I found there was already one wire fitted that i could use. Just followed this with the other wires I needed to fit so they were all together. I bought some sticky velcro and it velcros well to the carpet so the disc changer doesn't move around. It's pretty well hidden and no one has kicked it yet from the back.
Yes, under the front outside passenger seat. There's a Fiat bracket that fits under the seat runners, I got the bracket from the same car audio place I got my changer - though it was obviously from a dealer originally. The bracket's got a back plate to it that stops the changer being kicked by the rear seat passenger.
Still got my multichanger from the uglybug but it doesn't play with the facelift's head unit unfortunately. It still has the velcro on it that secured it to the carpet under the far left front passenger seat. No need for brackets or anything.
Thanks for all the feedback. The velcro bit sounds interesting (and nce and simple ).
If the weather holds on Sunday, I'm hoping to get out there and fit the changer, along with heated seats (watch this space). I've not had time to give the car a thorough look over since I bought it, so I'm looking forward to having a play. I've also got the bits I got from the breakers to fit. If I get all that done, I'm hoping the Multi will be up together for 5 mins.
Oh, and try and get the reversing sensors to play ball as well. Has anybody ever cured a continuous tone from them even when there's nothing near the back of the car?
When you've stuck the velcro to the changer and are ready to stick it under the seat - make sure you've got it placed exactlywhere you want it! Once the velcro's on the carpet it don't want to move again...
Maybe FIAT carpets are made by one half of the velcro company!

My nosejob gives a short little beep when I engage reverse. Perhaps the sender or similar (if there is one) is playing up. Or is there some muck on one of the sensors making them think there is an obstruction? Or have you fitted a towbar recently..........
Oh, and just thought. Sensors read beyond the width of the car. Make sure that it is not parked alongside a wall or close to another car. I back out of a very narrow cul de sac and if I come within about 4 inches of another car as I pass it , the reversing sensors are triggered even though there is nothing directly behind. More like a proximity sensor than just a reversing sensor.
Park in an open space, get someone to put it in reverse with then engine running (clutch dipped, obviously.....) and try sneaking up on it from behind and then 45 degrees from the rear and see if it triggers.
