Hey guys,

I've got a great alarm system off of ebay. Admittedly, when you open it to set it up, it looks a bit weird since it is obviously home-made, but it works really great.

Now that thing has an internal Battery of unknown capacity. I have 3 backup batteries wired in my car. 2x 36Ah which are for powering the CarPc (They've lost a lot of their capacity and are probably close to dying, sadly) and one 6Ah Battery, which i wired up to my alarm system.

I used to have it wired so the Alarm system battery gets power from the alternator as soon as i hit a switch when the engine is on, because earlier it used to suck the life out of all my Backup batteries whenever my car was standing for longer than a day.

Anyways, now this little 6Ah battery that i dedicated to my alarm system was completely full when i wired it up that way, but now it's always empty and my alarm system doesn't get enough power anymore. I however want my alarm system to always run in standby mode, so i only have to press a key on the remote to enable it.

Any idea on how to solve my power issues? I thought about rewiring my solar panel to deliver some extra power to my alarm system, but a lot of times my car is in a dark garage anyways. :(

Heh, i can't. It's a shared underground parking lot with automatic lighting. There is also no power outlet or else i could just hook my car up to a charger while it's parking, which would be awesome. :(

Your alarm should be powered by the cars battery the back up is usually to save the settings if car one goes flat
