Right gang!

Am getting ready to start work on the Buy/Sell and the Museum (probably to be renamed to buyers guide) so need your help.

Basically, I want every model of FIAT to be put in the database, which can then link to both the adverts and the guide (so you can search for a car you like, then click to see its profile etc).

Not sure how much depth to go into (ie just the model, or break it into individuals , like 1.4s, 1.4sx etc) but the more info I get the easier it is to decide.

As each one is done, I will add it to the top here, and once we have them all, I can start work on the next phase.

Cheers!

Bravo (80, 1.4s, 1.4sx, 1.6sx, 1.6hlx, 100, 1.8hlx, 115, hgt, 155)
Brava (I assume the same but without the hgt and 155?)

I wouldn't bother breaking it up into individual models within a range. That would be a huge task and Fiat changed their model specs so frequently that it would be almost impossible.

Take the Mk2 Punto for example. I counted 20 odd various spec levels. 1.2 8v, 1.2 16v, Sporting, HGT, GO, Mia, etc, plus special editions which were sold in specific countries in limited runs like the 5000000.

And to illustrate this further my Brava is a 1.6 100 HSX, which isn't in your list above.

www.carsfromitaly.com is an excellent source of info, but it's not completely accurate, so be wary of what you use.

I wouldnt bother to be honest, just keep it as a for sale under one section - this site is too divererse to start with! For example just look at then entries and hits on the current for sale section to giva an isea fo traffic.

Sorry, I dont think I was being clear. Imagine autotrader, but then just for FIATS. ie you pick a car you want and it searches. Will have photo uploads, advanced search etc etc.

Idea being, from later on instead of using somewhere like loot or autotrader, everyone would post their adverts up on here.

Should have a mockup written by next week, so you can see what I mean :D

I knew what you meant to start with! For the amount of adverts you are going to get I would leave it as one for the time being, if it grows you will see the top models being sold and could split them off if you wanted to, but for now I would leave as one IMO. Simply becuase there are a lot of people who look for a marque not just a model (i.e. me he said being selfish) and find even Autotrader a pain in the ass becuase it limits you to a model. I fyou had a level of search, like on ebay for instance where if you want to look at Fiat, Alfa and Lancia you can as a group or if you want a specific model say Beta, you search for Lancia Beta and up they pop.

I think the museum section will be goood.
We need a central point for information about the current line-up ; future line - ups and past models..

Ben, if you need any help getting the information let me know!

Possibly start liasing with Fiat UK for an official Fiat Forum project.

It would help fiat as well cos they would hear our views on the cars we drive and so they could include our points of view in the next generation of Fiats.

Just an idea!

Probably already thought of knowing my luck..

Perhaps you could break it down to engine sizes, rather than trim levels, which are almost endless? Engines change much less frequently, so. Ok, often different versions share engines too but then they have a different name, liek S or SX:)
