Hi,
I’ve got a lot of electrical problems with my 05 Ulysse, although the car itself runs fine.

Can I start by asking for help with my biggest problem, the main beams. (There’s no problem with the side lights or headlights)

The main beams work intermittently. It’s got so bad that they now only work now and again. Last Friday, they came on but then, I couldn’t turn them off, even when the ignition was switched off. They did eventually switch themselves off and now, I cannot get them back on again. (except in the flash position when the ignition is off).

The mechanic I use, says it’s a lighting control box problem. Can someone tell me where the lighting control box is. I assume it’s under the dash as you can hear it clicking when the lights are working.

Perhaps there may be another cause. But I can confirm that, the lighting stalk works fine.

I’ll come back to the other problems, which are almost certainly unconnected, if I can solve this one first.

Sounds like a relay problem to me.Is the clicking you hear coming from the fuse box at knee level? Or the one in the battery compartment? Or even the one in the engine compartment?

Thanks for your response. I dont think its the relay. That makes an audible 'click' behind the panel by your right knee. But further back there is a different sound, like a very quiet 'dumph' noise. There's no way of telling where it's coming from, but it appears to be under the dash somewhere.

Does the Ulysse have a control box for the headlights, or is the control part of the body computer?

I'll have a look using Lexia. Suspect the body computer controls them. I can hear the relay click when turning the dipped lights on - but no other noise. And no noise when selecting full beam either.
