Hi,
Could anyone explain how the switching of the lighting in the steering column looks like? In de steering column come several wires together and lights are switched on and off by switching the handle on the column, provided, ignition switch and switch for outside lighting is “on”. Which connections of the wires are made in the three modes of lighting: 1. only small lights, 2. low beam headlamps + small lights, 3. high beam headlamps + small lights.I tried to follow the lines in the wiring diagram on page 136 of Haynes, for a 500 L.
Wiring steering column:
56/a1 and 56/a2 (blackgreen and green) direct to high beam headlamps
30/2 pink, from fuse F
INT black, from ignition switch, (and there is an internal switch visible to 56b?)
C white, from outside light switch on dashboard
56b grey/red to fuse for low beam headlamps
30/3 yellow, from fuse E

is my conclusion correct that low beam headlights are fused twice and high beam headlights only once?
what is the function of 30/2, 30/3, C and INT?

Kind regards,
Pieter
