General lifting a panda 4x4

if we could stick on topic though thats a topic for another thread elsewhere though some good points there,

so theres lift kits about,some benefits besides obvious off road ability

maybe someone could whip up little review and comparison vid?

I agree with you all however there are still new cars out there with 50/50 weight distribution that don't understeer... but they're just generally not front wheel drive.

Getting back on topic, apparently SACHS also makes something that "fits" the Panda.

I dont know - maybe that might get rid of the waaaaay too low first gear ?

I'm not entirely sure, as the team site is in Italian. They've been running Pandas in Dakar for a while now, and oddly their previous efforts have all retired due to wheel fitment issues (they ran 16 inchers on the previous model Panda, this is the first time they're running a Panda 312 and they're stating that the switch to 15 inch wheels is going to be a big breakthrough). Considering the engine is a 172hp 1.9 liter diesel, I'm guessing not much of the rest of the car is anything close to original.

Edit: Here's some more info on it that I found. The engine is a 1.9 liter Multijet prepared by Cap360 Motorsports, the shocks are SACHS remote reservoir units, and other than the engine pretty much everything was prepared by JollyCar 4x4 including the additional cooling, telemetry, and all new gearbox-driveshaft-differential running gear.

The 1.9 should have plenty of torque to boot so the gearing might not actually be an issue at all. It looks awesome

So I've bitten the bullet and brought a 30mm lift kit. I've read this entire thread so far, and I don't mind the slightly more expensive maintenance costs if need be for that extra clearance. HOWEVER, the lift kit has arrived and the front struts appear to be a good few mil shorter than the back ones. Any guesses why? This is a 30mm lift kit to be clear. Please see images attached for details...

I too looked at lifting kits, they were available on eBay (NOT the spring spacer type but shocks, springs and prop mounting spacers) the Italian supplier doesn’t advertise on eBay anymore. I believe, from the blurb, that they are shorter at the front to stop the driveshaft angle issue and, if you look, I think it will even the gaps out, front to rear, between wheel and arch

Ahh excellent. I was worried that the car may have been sat unevenly. Luckily I'm getting it done by a professional garage so hopefully we can iron out any issues which might arise. Cheers
