Number one when your Multijet is a nightmare to start cold check the glow plugs have power before you spend the weekend drilling out the 3 that snapped….. 4 new plugs in and still won’t start without 5 mins of cranking.Texa and snap on eodb scanner reported no codes and showed reasonable resistances across the 4 glow plugs…. Actuator test mode makes glow plug smart relay pulse on and off and found no power to plugs

A glow plug relay so smart it reports the resistance of each plug and can tell you which one is faulty or disconnected is so stupid that it does not monitor the input voltage ! Bloody ring terminal from fuse box to relay has corroded and finally melted…. Oh well I have 4 non stuck glow plugs and a new ring terminal

Second useful think learnt is you can use a non a/c belt from any good motorfactor to bypass your ac compressor that decided to suddenly seize and brake 3 of the 4 mounting bolts to get you home. Clutch stuck engaged and cannot turn even with big bar !
