Lambda sensor problem

My cinquecento died on me last night night, a light did come up on the dash a few hours before that which means a problem with that area. So now it won't start apparently it's the lambda sensor...so what's the deal with them? Is it easy to fix or what? Thanks x

I can't see it being the lambda sensor in a million years. If the car has no fuel and no spark it will be the TDC sensor.
