Was thinking could the lamba sensor be faulty
would this explain failed mot emmisions. ALso getting bad fuel economy also.

How much would a new one cost?

Checked air filter and exhuast doesnt appear
to be anything wrong there.

what would be the symptoms of a broken lambar sensor tom?

To add to Tom, the easiest way to check is a ECO test (don't know the GB term), + the car won't accelerate good in 1. gear and it sometimes ”jerks” at slow speed.

right bro... my mechanic told me the same thing in regard to the sensor.

Bloody Idiots!!!

Don't use Hi-q in Chapel Ash Wolverhampton.
Went back said to them need emmisions looking at and retesting.

They just retested it the whole test and failed it. I left the failed mot info in the car.

So I am waiting for them to get back to me with some news. Also last week when they serviced it they charged me for a part they didn't fit. They will be refunding me for this.

If its more than 24hrs they need to redo the entire test. :(

Do you know the emissions figures? CO HC etc..

Check the lambda sensor emissions, if the emissions are in limits the sensor is ok. If not it has to be changed.
Tom would probably know if it's something else.

It would be useful to know the emissions levels. 'failed' emissions could be caused by a multitude of things from leaking injectors, sticking valves, failed/blocked/melted cats, blocked filters, blocked exhaust, failed engine temp sensor....

It was the lambda sensor. Charged me £92!
I think thats for mot as well though which is
£35.
