we have a renault laguna at work as the pool car.

its the dci 130 i believe  (i know its a diesel), in dynamique spec.

its got the navigation/cd player system.

when you go to turn the radio on, it switches on the screen and you can flick through the different stations, turn the volume up etc, but no sound is coming through the speakers at all.

its driving me nuts having to drive everywhere with just my phone playing tunes. does anyone have any idea of what it could be?

tried fiddling with the volume control on the stalk?

Other option is to look in the menu for a mute function, they can be buried sometimes but I haven't tried the laguna one...

This one is a 55 reg, its a light blue kinda colour that suits the tourer quite well (y)

Some say its not comfy over long journeys etc, but its a bit better then what my stilo is.

I would have said that the performance is on about the same level as the stilo, being an estate so having a bit more weight to lug round, but a little bit more power. it also creates quite a little sporty note when you push it hard.

it has a 6th gear though that i miss when i get back into my car  as far as reliablity goes.... some idiot at work managed to put £30 of petrol in it and drive 200 miles before it conked out , and the cd player have been the only probs so far ;) as far as problems go with it.... its only user neglect that it ends up going wrong :)

try the mute function; within the menus, depending on your model of cabasse...

also, the system could be paused - try pressing the column stalk up/down volume together to pause / unpause.

i went from a stilo (abarth) into a lag2, far better "car" interms of living with it, comfort, long journies etc. it is a heavy car (almost 1 1/2 tonnes) so performance can be dulled a little. the higher end tourers do have modified suspension so i still have some fun.

so many clever touches - hows this one, the electric seats, mirrors, radio volume, climate all work on the memory of the key. so, mrs dibbers opens the car with her key and the car sets itself against her preferences. i open with my key and it sets itself up for me. very very useful for a multi-use car.

look for INITIALE trims, they are absolutely loaded with kit, and go for a 2.2 lump (150bhp / around 370nm as standard...)

this model has so far not missed a beat yet..... except for the sound system :(

the only major issue has been when someone put in £40 of petrol (n) instead of diesel
