Any m/homers out there with knowledge of elderly Ducatos? Just bought one, a 1992 Fiat Ducato 1.9TD base & a Swift Capri 540 GXL body & am trying to do the basics such as changing oil, air & fuel filters. Doesn't seem to be any info that I can use as a guide & I'd rather not bodge something if I can avoid it.

E.g how does the fuel filter fit-is it a screw thread? Do you turn it to left or right to unscrew? Been fighting to remove it today & got absolutely nowhere but found a fuel leak & sorted that by replacing all the hoses. There is no release strap & no screws/bolts which hold the filter in place as far as I can see.

Oil-how much does it take to bring it up to the correct level.
Gearbox oil-is a filler accessible-if so how much oil should it take?
I'm working on the assumption that no-one has done anything with the engine for a very long time & without the engine running well it's not going to be much of a m/home. Am on a deadline-grandson arrives on 24th May so can't hang about

you will find loads of brill information on this forum. but bearing in mind the age of your vehicle you may find TalbotOC worth a visit as lots of owners on there with your model as the site covers. Fiat---puegeot---citrone and Talbot all with the 1.9 variant. and CustomCampers a good source for parts etc.
