hi guys got a 2007 1.9 diesel 120 had it just over a year just lately no power /very slow pickup under 200 revs.there are no faults showing have changed the oil and air filters and cleaned the egr valve [twice] anybody got any ideas without a manual its hard work :bang:

Try disconnecting the MAF sensor and take it for a spin. If performance improves it means a potential problem with the MAF. You haven't any fault codes as yet but the MAF could still be sending incorrect readings to the ECU. Just a thought.

If that doesn't help, have a go at cleaning the MAP sensor. This is a pressure sensor located on top of the engine manifold close the electrical connection for the EGR (you may have to move the EGR to get the MAP out). Gently clean the soot off the sensor. This is only a quick job.

Good luck. :)

cheers i will try it tomorrow just put some redx diesel cleaner in aswell

sounds like a faulty solenoid or stuck EGR, or the beginnings of it. So there is enough EGR flow not to set off the EML and therefore no fault is registered. Performance is pretty pants until enough pressure is reached to push the EGR closed (under acceleration) and it takes off again. Performance remains normal until the EGR is stuck again (in my case after a while on part throttle).

Hope this helps, had the same in my car. In my case the symptoms seemed less with Vpower/BP ultimate, although I have no clue why;)

so cleaned the egr again valve is moving well not sticking but not sure about the plunger on the electrical side sticks out about 2mm can push it in but it s stiff if you grab it it will pull out a lot bot springs back to about 2mm is this correct, also cannot see the map sensor do i have one elearn only shows the one one the air box:confused:

Solenoid plunger position sounds normal. Unless you are getting EGR fault code it should be activating ok too.

MAP sensor is very close to EGR Valve. Look at the electrial connection for the EGR valve - the MAP sensor is located very close, has an electrical connection and is held in place by a single hex bolt. It looks like this:

Hope this helps.

cheers will have a look just clean with electrical cleaner i take it (y)

Sounds like the solenoid is stiff, it should move with no resistance at all. I've attached a pdf which shows you how to fix it, it's not my document I stumbled upon it online when I was fixing my sisters car. as long as you are competent with tools it should be no problem.

I replaced my EGR Valve (only about £55) and an easy enough job. Saves the hassle of doing all that work and then potentially still finding its faulty!

It's called turbo lag!

Sent from my iPad using FIAT Forum

no this isnt turbo lag used to take off alot better than this engine light keeps coming on then goes off im going to get an elm327 interface to see whats what

Hi all,
recently acquired a 2.0 165t sport and i have exactly the same problem. no faults showing just crap below 2000 revs. now i was told that this was turbo lag.so is this true? i had an alfa 156 1.9jtd before and that had all its power available from take off. i had to replace leaking turbo hoses and clean the egr but that always threw up faults codes to justify this.this bravo has done 67,000.
cheers.
