Technical kripton tuning

i ve just got a 1.4 brava and its running like a bag of spanners i,ve serviced it thats helped but theres still no real accelaration it also has a bad flat spot which goes when it gets above about 2500 and 3000 revs.

its got 114000 miles on the clock its an N reg 1996 can it be cripton tuned(sorry for the spelling)or is it just cream crackerd.

Welcome.
Try a tin of Ecotek Powerboost, http://www.ecotekplc.com/ (same idea as 10k boost), and a fuel cleaning additive. If the engine is coked up then they should make a noticable difference. You are pretty much stuck with the flat spot though. I'm going to sound like a salesman now , but fitting an Ecotek valve will help smooth the gears out and with the flat spot, but get the general engine performance up first.

With 114k on the clock the engine will be a bit loose but, unless it's been thrashed, should still give you some performance. If you have already carried out a service then a Krypton Tune will not give you much more as the ECU sets most of the engine up, but give a local operator a call and see what he offers. A local Fiat dealer will normally carry out a free diagnostic check for you, (they are after the cash for fixing anything they find).

Yeah, got the valve and the powerboost. Re-fitting the valve this weekend. I'll let you know how it goes.

Nothing can be tuned as such.As PoleCat says its all done via the ecu. Brava/o s are prone for the camshaft lobes wearing down due to lack of oil from the oil feed pipe above camshft. Although check everythink first as leads are common for breakage/Tracking as well. Although the 1.4 is not the best performer anyway
