Hello I have an issue with what I thought was my cv joint as I have a slight knocking sound so I ordered a cv joint kit and as I was under the car I had seen lots of grease from the prop shaft splayed all round the car I then googled it and found this age I will attach and then looked at the cab joint and that all seems fine ? So if anyone knows could that be causing the knock ..also not my photo but its looks exactly the same

Propshaft c.v. joint perhaps exacerbated by a failed propshaft centre bearing (the elastomer or rubber bushing around the bearing)?? Failed centre bearing will cause a knock and things will flail around out of balance.

Easiest way to fix that is to replace the propshaft, as that will give you new CV joints at either end and a new support bearing in the middle too. £280 or so for the part. A couple of folk here have replaced this themselves on a driveway. I chickened out and paid to have it done. An hour and half labour.
