I have this problem. When driving on uneven road surface, I can hear a knocking sound especially when driving slowly the sound gets louder and clearer.

Up to date, I have changed the lower arm, anti-roll bar bushes, inner track rod, wheel bearing and lube the drive shaft CV joints.

The sound gets louder and frequent when I changed from 15" rims to 16" rims. Could it be a damaged drive shaft CV joints? Please advise.

Regards,

Syed.

you have to check your CVJ joint and also the steering rod and joint both the inner one and the outer one at the wheel.

How are your shockabsorbers? Could be those that are causing the noise.

Anonymous,

Steering rod inner, I have replaced them. And the shocks are KONIs and still new. Damaged CV Joints, could they caused a knocking sound.

.............,

Bottom Ball Joint, is it the suspension ball joint that come together with the lower arm? If it is, I have also changed the lower arm and the wheel bearing.

Guys,

The only thing I have not changed or checked are the CV Joints and outer steering track rod ends. About the outer steering track rod ends, I doubt it will make that loud knocking sound even when driving slowly (about 20km/h) on uneven rods. I can hear the sound at the bottom right hand side, like at the driver's foot well (I think).

knockings sound

I have that too, it is beginning to annoy me as i have checked all the joints. I am going to check the anti roll bar inner bushes this weekend! It could also be the shock absorber top mounts, did you replace them when you fitted new shocks?? I will be doing that in a couple of weeks so will let yuo know.
