Knocking noise when pulling off

Hi all

Right, I've come to the conculsion that searching for a specific knocking noise on this forum is like looking for a needle in a haystack, so I thought I'd post rather looking forever!

As title really, when I pull off I'm getting a low pitch knocking noise which seems to be coming from the passenger side front wheel, like a metal on metal single click sound. I'm getting this in reverse too.

I get a bit of a higher pitched knocking sound from the same area when going over some bumps, but I don't know if they're related...

Anyone experienced a similar problem?

Knocking sound on car

Check that your wheel is not rubbing on the plastic grille under the wheel arch as it goes round. I have a mate whos tyre was rubbing on the plastic every whole rotation of the wheel , his also sounded like a clicking noise.

If not this then check the wheel fitment, ie make sure that where the wheel is fitted onto the hub that there is nothing stuck in there and that when the wheel turns nothing is loose or out of place. It would be best to take the wheel off and check then re-fit the wheel then listen for the noice.

Hope this helps

Check your cv joint/driveshaft that side it was that noise on my old marea.
