any ideas?

there is a rather loud and disturbing knocking/banging/cracking kind of sound comeine from (i think) the rear of my car. noise only appears when usually downhill in 2nd/3rd and not touching any pedals. noise goes away when i touch the accelerator again.

its a 1994 uno 999c FIRE

cheers

Probably the exhaust system knocking against the handbrake cable on the axle beam, if it's throttle related. Check all the exhaust mountings, particularly the two rubber rings near the handbrake.

Another common cause for a constant rattling/knocking is the shock absorber top mountings. Pull off the plastic cap and try to move the shock spindle around.

il have a look at suspension mountings but exhaust sounds more realistic seeing as i had a custom item fitted from the CAT backwards.
stupid powerflow ****s done know what their doing.

thanks for your help!

nah i checked the suspension mountings, all is good.

(shame cos that would be an excuse to lower it :D)

its the exhaust knocking as you said. just a trip down the garage to get them to adjust it.
