Guys I need help I have a 1997 Uno 1.1. The car was standing for about 2 years. When I got it I replaced the module, plugs, rotor, dizzy Cap, fuel filter, oil filter and new oil. Timing is right on crank and cam but it back fires through the carb. I then removed the head to check all valve I then lapped all of them assembled the engine again and still backfires what can I do now???

Static timing checked ....dynamic checked?

Check vacuum pipes are all connected in the right places and not perished/split.

It is possible that when replacing the distributor cap, you mixed up the order of the plug wires on the new cap, this will explain backfire through the carburator. To fix this you need to remove no1 spark plug and turn the engen on the crank all the wile checking the position of no1 piston.
Stop turning the engine when no1 piston rocks in its top position. Provided that your crank timing is correct, the rotor will point to the position where you should connect the no1 sparkplug wire to the cap.
The firing order I believe is 1342 so by confirming the direction that the rotor swing when you crank the engine and the above mentioned firing order you can determine the position of the rest of the spark plugs wire positions on the cap.
