Hi if there is a knock sensor does anyone know where its located on a 2.2 2007 x250 Thanks in advance for any reply

Knock sensor is to detect engine knock due to bad timing, preignition etc. its located under the manifold on the block on transits with the puma engine.

What you linked to is the inertia sensor which is designed to cut power to the fuel pump in the event of a collision.

Hi. I think the 2.2 is a Diesel, in which case there will be no knock sensor. Diesels knock the whole time they are running - that's how they work !

Yes they knock all the time but they are supposed to knock in time, in sequence, approximately the same amount per cylinder and within certain parameters. Lots of diesel have knock sensors.

I just checked my docs re: transit and the 2.0 and 2.4 puma have it but the 2.2 its seems not. Weirdly the 2.2 has it in the mondeo and jaguar.

Yes my mistake this was what I was looking for a friend waited 2 hrs for the AA after driving thru a pot hole they had the bonnet up for 30 secs on his car, So thought it'd be a good idea to locate it before the need arrived and couldn't see it anywhere under the bonnet. Thanks again for all replies
