Hey folks,

In my quest to acquire the perfect 500 Pop for myself I've come across the kicker speaker package in the brochure. Since I'm going to have to order my car in (no yellow manuals in Sydney, BOOOO!) I thought it might be a good idea to get the speaker package factory fitted so it's covered by the three year warranty.

Has anybody had this package installed and if so what's it like?

Cheers, Em :slayer:

Hi,

Are you talking about the Kicker sound system that's available through Mopar?

I don't think that this is a factory fit option. The general idea I was given is that all of the accessories in the recently released catalogue would be installed by your dealer once the car arrives. Besides the stock standard car the idea of a factory order seems to be a foreign concept to Australian Fiat dealers (or at least the ones I have spoken to).

Tee :)

Have they started making RHD Fiats in Mexico? Aussies on another forum seem to think its still coming from Poland. If so you might still be able to ask for the Interscope upgrade.

Yep yep, that's the one.

Just had a closer look at the mopar link...... Ermahgerd! Pimp my Pop. The accesories catalogue was shown to us breifly at the dealer so that's why I thought it was factory gear. I never thought I'd want "ambient lighting" in a car but for some reason now I don't know how I've survived thus far without it :spin:

Haha glad I'm not the only one thinking about pimping the pop ;)

At a guess, 3x more expensive and probably not as good as a competent aftermarket install.

IMO, the 500 doesn't need a sub, just replace the rear 3" speakers with some bassy 5 1/4's (they fit straight in). When I find a set of drivers I'm happy with, that's what I'll be doing.

Yeah, I saw the price and figured it's just a tad steep, think I'll wait 'til I actually get the car and then figure it out from there.
Thanks all :)
