I need to install a new kick-down cable. My setup doesn't appear to be standard. Does anyone have a picture? The way it connects to my throttle body seems different. Here is my picture. You can see the clip is broken.

Years since I had to fit a kick down cable on an automatic, but how do you say that plastic clip is broken?
To me the cable is probably fitting through a bolt with a hole in it and washers to pinch it in to place to allow more adjustment than the threaded outer cable in photo and the plastic bit just has a groove in it to guide the inner cable around the spool better.
Obviously you will adjust it so the kick down only actuates towards full throttle, but in a position that suites your driving preference.
Unless of course you have a genuine new kick down cable that just as an end that engages with the throttle cam.:)

Thank you for getting back to me. The black clip is screwed in and holds the cable, but it's missing the other half. Therefore, the cable doesn't stay in and does not engage. I found out this is not standard, so somebody had the same situation, no original clip, then came up with this setup, which is now broken. Neither Autoricambi, Vickauto, or Mid-west Bayliss sell the clip. Midwest is cool enough to be checking for a solution for me.

Would it be possible to use something like we used to use when making up motorcycle replacement cables.
We used to buy the cable inners and outers in lengths to cut to length , but in your case we also used to buy the round barrel ends that fitted into the levers. These could we soldered or some came with a small bolt, so once the cable was threaded through the hole at the suitable length the bolt could be tightened to secure the cable.
The barrel end would then be able to revolve slightly in the lever , or in your case the throttle linkage allowing it to function smoothly.

Thank you, @bugsymike. I have a friend who is a motorcycle enthusiast. I will check with him. Thanks again!
