Hello guys, happy new year and all,

Now the crazy period is over got some cash to spare on doing some minor repairs, such as replacing the middle section of exhaust cause the flexi had split between that and the back box!! sounds great now :)

Next problem is the key fob, replaced the last summer and it hasn't worked since, so i'm guessing it needs a reset, tried disconnecting the battery and have read it up that there is no sequences to initiate except for reaching into your pocket for cash and handing it over to a fiat dealer?..

Now luck maybe,.. is i have a log book with good service history and it has a peice of paper that says "Keycode Security" made in Portugal by Visteon...unit type FIAT OA 3 a serial number with a letter followed by 6 numbers etc... and a Keycode 4 digits long is this the one for the dealer that will reset the key fob and sync it with our car? cause i read somewhere that it's a 5 digit code, can someone verify? also a sticky peice of paper looks to have been removed by someone previously maybe had the same code on it or a different code.. so this is peice 2 of 2,

It's going to cost (probobly fixed price) £25 to reset the fob, if that's the code? to get the code would be obviously more expensive.. worth forking out for or just using the key to open the car all the time...

Visteon MXXXXXX is the serial number for the radio and the 4 digit number will be the radio code.

The key mechanical code is 2 or 3 letters followed by 4 or 5 numbers respectively. This is needed to cut a new key.

The key electronic code is 5 numbers. This is needed to program up to 8 keys to the immobiliser, and make a few other adjustments to the body computer. It can also be used to carry out the emergency start procedure to early Stilos.

Thanks davren, expensive do, £35 for electronic code then £25 to sync it, we only have one key that can open it by battery the other is manual anyways, £60 just to not be lazy and open it by a button... and the sake of a battery change lol....

Was about an hour or two changing the bloody passenger headlight, had to remove battery and tray to get in lol, but I'll try it over night like you say shadeyman, see if it works cheers.

yeah Shadeyman, flashs, and keeps flashing on and off if i hold a button in.
