Keyboard setup

When i set up my comp up for the first time, it asked about type of keyboard. There was a message saying, for standard QWERTY keyboards, select US standard.. Thought fine, must be right. Now I'm using it, the keys are wrong. Types ok, but when you use a Shift+ function they're all over the place.. i can't even get a pound sign! Does anyone know how to go about changing it? I've looked in control panel but nothing obvious there.. disconnected it all and plugged in an another one.. still the same. I know it can be changed as i had this problem at work.. but the IT guys sorted it. Anyone?

You need to go to UK layout, not US.

What OS are you on?

Windows XP, the Eee has its own OS, express gate and its the same in there too

Then go to Control Panel - Regional and Language Options - and set it all to UK

Languages tab, details, default input language...

stus right, I done this recently & couldn't get £ sign....it was in US mode

I know this because I use a US keyboard because we use the US layout in Australia and I just can't get used to the UK layout. Had to order myself a G15 specially and it cost me about £10 more than a UK one
