High guys, browsed this forum before but new to posting,so be patient with me please.Fiat Marea 1.8 cc W/end Est Manual 1997
A couple of weeks ago the old bus refused to start, the RAC patrol recommended that I had the keys recoded and gave me the number for a guy who could do this.He came out recoded all three keys (yes even the red master) and all was well for another 7-10 days. Then I had the same problem,no key code light on the dash and a non-starting car.I tried both keys to no avail and after the RAC had towed me home again, tried the master.Success the car started but the key code warning light stayed on. I left the car alone for an hour and then tried one of the other keys......Hurrah it started worked all weekend (no pun intended) just as it used to.This Monday the little tinker got me to work and then refused to take me home.Being a clever(?) bugger I had all 3 keys on me,however the car was smarter than me and still refuses to start. Now you have the background info here's the question do I rush around trying to get a new ECU or do I blow the beast up in a fit of frustration. Most of the people I have tried have been fairly unhelpful and the guy who fixed it is running scared from what he says must be a fault somewhere on the car as the keys shouldn't keep dropping out.Anyone get me a happy xmas ending to this one please. Now bored with the bus.THANKS!!!!
