General karbineftw's daft induction question thread

Can I just use your picture, the bottom one to ask a question
I've bought an induction kit for my car, its identical to this IE the engine bay etc. I bought a 1.1/1.2 fiat punto 8V induction kit and my dad seems to think it's not going to fit. Any advice?

Yeah, my advice is to fit it as no one knows what you've bought lol

I'm just wanting to know, judging from thast picture^ that if it would be possible to fit one. The standard style tube with filter on the end. not the pipercross panel thing.
My dad seems to think that my car doesn't use fuel injection :O :S

LOL at the great thread title...
It's not a focus kit, as I bought the version on ebay exactly this "Fiat punto mk1 93-99 1.1/1.2L 8V induction kit" So surely this has to fit!! But yet my dad says otherwise.
He is an auto mechanic in his spare time on weekends so he has some idea what he's talking about but he hasn't had chance to look at the engine bay in detail with the airbox off. Will have a look when I get home.

It was near enough that. I'm at college right now! It's a shop this guy has.
That was the item name and what came on the invoice. You'll have to take my word for it right now. Unless I can find a proxy to get on.

Should let you on ebay, don't see why collages block this type of site, pRon i can understand and games sites maybe but ebay is good for research.

As for the kit, I doubt for £30 it will give you 5bhp and 16lbs of torque.

Depending where it sits it could be feeding HOT air into your engine LOOSING you some BHP, the only difference is that it will sound a bitter more rugged.

On a 1.2 8v there is naff all chance. More like 2-3bhp and the same in ftlbs if you're lucky.

~10% increase in bhp and ~20% increase in torque from a poorly designed induction system? You're having a laugh, even an excellent induction system will struggle to see those gains.
