Technical kangaroo drive in first gear

hi all,i have a brava 1242 hatch year 2000 and my problem is in first gear sometimes as i start off the car shudders like mad and even if i accelerate it just worsens until i get into second gear.AND ITS NOT MY DRIVING!!!I have never seen this before in all my 20 years driving.Any ideas?

i have the exact same problem with my 99 brava. although it's gone now, try not to change down form 2nd to 1st, could be gearbox mountings or signs that your clutch is on the way out. i've 87000 miles on mine and the problem only lasted about 2 weeks! email me at [email protected] if you wanna know more

I have the exact same problem with my 99 1.2 bravo, yet the garage says that they can find nothing wrong with it [?]

Just posting a note to say my Brava is doing the same. Mine does it more in second gear than in first (even though I'm not trying to start in second or anything like that). As with others, the garage have looked at it - nothin wrong (allegedly). It's due it's fist service in the next 3 months so I'll get another opinion then.
