is it?

well the standard air filter seems a little restricted so imo i think this K&N will be too...

get a focus mate, im hopefully getting one soon. :D

@1PuntoCarl2

yeh i guess it will be :p

when you get the kit post a video on here so we can see what i sounds like :)

I found this on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FIAT-PUNTO-1-2-8V-1999-2005-K-N-AIR-FILTER-KN-NEW_W0QQitemZ290351471902QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item439a4bdd1e#ht_1558wt_1165

I noticed it just replaces the standard filter which makes things easier :D

but i wasn't sure if it gave a sporty sound or not :p

all that is .. is a diffrent filter for your big black box,
proberly wont even make a difference.
you are better off getting a mushroom induction kit to just put on top of your punto providing you have a 1.2 or 1.4 standard punto mk2 ... or just get a focus induction kit with a air filter on the end :)

K&N filters are great quality, and this will improve performance over the paper filter, provided you clean and re-oil at the required intervals (but even then, the effect may be too small to notice). The negative press associated with K&N on these forums is to do with their induction kit design. In fact, any induction kit that sits on the top of the engine is going to lose power.

If you go the Focus induction kit route, do make sure you put the filter somewhere cold, and try to route the silicone pipe away from the head. You will also need to source an extended breather hose too. If you cannot be bothered with that hassle, then fit the best instead. Custom made specifically for the Punto, by a clued-up member of this forum.

Hi all,

Blimey thanks for all these replies :)

The Mushroom Filter is definitely out of the question no point losing power :p

The Filter replacement i found i guess is again useless so that's a no

The Focus Induction kit sounds and looks good but needs to be mounted in the best way, Making sure it lets cold air in rather than hot :)

erm the GSR kit is a expensive kit but I guess if its the correct one as such and its made for the punto..

I think its gonna be a split between the Focus induction kit and the GSR :D

I think its gonna be a split between the Focus induction kit and the GSR :D

I guess that leaves you two paths of expenditure...

Get the Focus kit (£40), then wish you had bought the GSR kit, so sell the Focus kit (-£15) and get the GSR kit (£159)
Total Cost: £184

Or get the GSR kit from the start, and be happy
Total Cost: £159

@Bison X

Yes that will work follow the guide in punto section :)

you will need a Breather pipe though :)

erm check the guide for exact stuffs you need (y)

Hi guys,
